Maelini jewellery features 18k or 24k gold plated brass components and sometimes 14k gold filled components. While plated metals can oxidise over time, based on usage and proper care, gold plated jewellery can endure for years, whereas gold filled jewellery can last for decades.
Our beads are chosen for their craftsmanship, quality and durability and are often from esteemed brands in the jewellery world.
Although our materials are chosen carefully, the delicate nature of mother of pearl nacre and freshwater pearls means they could develop minor surface scratches against hard surfaces. Designs using vintage beads are quality checked prior to assembling due to being pre-loved.
